Lake Arrowhead Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is an independent branch of the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce with a focus on local government, issues, and impact on our community life.  The GAC makes recommendations for advocacy and support for issues that affect our community.

Purpose

GAC is responsible for organizing community members with local, state, and federal government bodies and officials in areas of interest to our communities, and to promote effective cooperation between the communities and government.

  • To keep members apprised of legislative issues that will affect our communities

  • To keep members and government entities informed of local issues that may affect the quality of life in our communities

  • To bring motions for actions related to such issues before the Chamber Board

REMEMBERING PENNY SHUBNELL

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Penny Shubnell’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 8th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the San Moritz Lodge, located at 24640 San Moritz Drive at the east end of Lake Gregory in Crestline. Everyone who knew Penny is invited to share their photos or memories of her and to attend.

 

Penny spent over two decades of her life on the mountain thinking and acting to make the lives of others better. She worked for and gave her time and efforts to help the community thrive. Penny has worked for many volunteer organizations on the mountain and has received dozens of honors for her dedication to others.

Penny died on Friday, October 18, 2024, leaving behind her daughter Wendy Signorio and her husband Ken, and their two daughters Abby Signorio, and Emily Hardman and her husband Tyler Hardman. Penny’s other daughter, Kalyn Shubnell, and her brother Ralph Rzewnicki, 85, of Hemet are also mourning her loss.

Those who wish to donate to the memorial ceremony or wish to send sympathy cards may send them in care of the Crest Forest Senior Citizens Club at P.O. Box 317, Crestline CA 92325.
